20 irregular migrants nabbed in Turkey’s capital, police say
20 irregular migrants have been nabbed in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, the Provincial Police Department said in a statement on Friday.
Among the migrants were 17 Afghan, 2 Pakistani and 1 Uzbek nationals, the statement said
2 human traffickers were also held in the operation, it added.
The statement added that the necessary procedures for the deportation of irregular migrants have been initiated.
Turkey has traditionally been a major transit port for irregular immigrants to enter the European countries.
According to the official reports, 454,662 irregular migrants held across the country in 2019. (ILKHA)
