Iran's death toll from coronavirus rises to 23,808
Iran has reported 176 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 23,808, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Thursday.
After 2,815 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 413,149 in the country.
There are at least 3,848 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, 353,848 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 3,667,551 have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 945,782 with 30,070,457 cases and more than 21,824,452 recoveries. (ILKHA)
