Iran reports 2,981 daily confirmed cases of COVID-19
After 2,981 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 410,334 in the country, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Wednesday.
179 more people have died of coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 23,632.
There are at least 3,827 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 352,019 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 3,641,581 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 939,935 with 29,762,036 cases and more than 21,563,605 recoveries. (ILKHA)
