Iran reports 2,089 daily confirmed cases of COVID-19
After 2,089 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 402,029 in the country, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Sunday.
128 more people have died of coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 23,157.
There are at least 3,791 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 346,242 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 3,559,565 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
Lari also urged people to continue the implementation of health guidelines in order to contain the spread of the pandemic.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 924,951 with 28,964,703 cases and more than 20,843,910 recoveries. (ILKHA)
