United States reports 35,244 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours
1,209 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 195,239, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 128,653 deaths, India with 75,091 deaths and Mexico with 68,484 deaths.
6,549,475 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 35,244 new cases in the past 24 hours.
Until now, at least 3,846,095 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.
At least 89,283,072 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 474,208 confirmed cases, with at least 33,105 deaths.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 909,524 people across the world. (ILKHA)
