127 more people have died of coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 22,669.

There are at least 3,735 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 339,111 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.

So far, more than 3,431,646 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.

Lari also urged people to continue the implementation of health guidelines in order to contain the spread of the pandemic.

According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 902,537 with 27,769,011 cases and more than 19,851,221 recoveries. (ILKHA)
