Iran reports 132 new deaths from COVID-19
After 2,302 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 391,112 in the country, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Tuesday.
132 more people have died of coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 22,542.
There are at least 3,713 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 337,414 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 3,431,646 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 897,626 with 27,523,043 cases and more than 19,624,337 recoveries. (ILKHA)
