United States reports 44,507 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours
1,094 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 191,144, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 124,729 deaths, India with 68,878 deaths and Mexico with 66,329 deaths.
6,338,119 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 44,507 new cases in the past 24 hours.
Until now, at least 3,575,866 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.
At least 84,908,870 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 469,215 confirmed cases, with at least 33,059 deaths.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 874,442 people across the world. (ILKHA)
