Iran's death toll from coronavirus rises to 22,044
Iran has reported 118 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 22,044, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Friday.
After 2,026 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 382,772 in the country.
There are at least 3,695 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, 330,308 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 3,331,073 have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 873,803 with 26,502,188 cases and more than 18,684,199 recoveries. (ILKHA)
