After 1,858 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 378,752 in the country.

There are at least 3,729 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, 362,801 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.

So far, more than 3,281,961 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.

Lari also urged people to continue the implementation of health guidelines in order to contain the spread of the pandemic.

According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 862,368 with 25,967,087 cases and more than 18,248,849 recoveries. (ILKHA)
