After 1,642 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 375,212 in the country.

There are at least 3,729 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, 323,233 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.

So far, more than 3,231,110 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.

According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 851,099 with 25,416,236 cases and more than 17,724,406 recoveries. (ILKHA)
