954 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 186,917, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 120,498 deaths, India with 64,062 deaths and Mexico with 63,819 deaths.
6,143,716 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 42,843 new cases in the past 24 hours.
Until now, at least 3,408,799 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.
At least 81,102,397 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 464,595 confirmed cases, with at least 33,012 deaths.
