United States reports 49,601 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours
1,105 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 186,267, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 119,594 deaths, India with 63,280 deaths and Mexico with 63,146 deaths.
6,107,995 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 49,601 new cases in the past 24 hours.
Until now, at least 3,376,934 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.
At least 80,443,897 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 463,915 confirmed cases, with at least 33,005 deaths.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 843,089 people across the world. (ILKHA)
