Iran's death toll from coronavirus rises to 21,020
Iran has reported 119 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 21,020, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Wednesday.
After 2,243 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 365,606 in the country.
There are at least 3,813 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, 314,870 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 33,113,806 have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 824,194 with 24,092,709 cases and more than 16,634,338 recoveries. (ILKHA)
