United States reports 41,484 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours
679 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 181,226, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 115,476 deaths, Mexico with 60,800 deaths and India with 58,793 deaths.
5,918,213 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 41,484 new cases in the past 24 hours.
Until now, at least 3,219,327 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.
At least 76,924,333 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 460,991 confirmed cases, with at least 32,972 deaths.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 818,265 people across the world. (ILKHA)
