A Turkish military vehicle lightly damaged due to a blast during joint patrol in Idlib
A Turkish military vehicle was lightly damaged due to an explosion during the 26th Turkey-Russian Federation joint patrol in Syria’s northwestern Idlib province.
“During the 26th TUR-RF Combined Land Patrol on M-4 Highway in Idlib that was being conducted within the framework of the TUR-RF Agreement/Protocol, a convoy vehicle was lightly damaged due to an explosion. The area was immediately covered by fire. The operation continues,” Turkey’s Defense Ministry tweeted on Tuesday.
After the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on March 5, 2020, Russia and Turkey came to a cease-fire agreement in Syria, which included joint Russian and Turkish patrols of a 12 kilometers (7.5 mile) wide corridor alongside the M4 Motorway that runs through Idlib to Latakia.
