United States reports 50,455 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours
1,170 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 179,418, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 113,454 deaths, Mexico with 59,610 deaths and India with 56,696 deaths.
5,808,031 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 50,455 new cases in the past 24 hours.
Until now, at least 3,127,648 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.
At least 74,814,529 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 459,096 confirmed cases, with at least 32,937 deaths.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 805,065 people across the world. (ILKHA)
