Iran's death toll from coronavirus rises to 20,502
Iran has reported 126 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 20,502, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Saturday.
After 2,028 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 356,792 in the country.
There are at least 3,850 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, 307,702 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 3,011,310 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 803,803 with 23,149,539 cases and more than 15,732,468 recoveries. (ILKHA)
