United States reports 45,341 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours
1,090 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 177,476, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 112,423 deaths, Mexico with 59,106 deaths and India with 55,174 deaths.
5,749,368 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 45,341 new cases in the past 24 hours.
Until now, at least 3,096,525 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.
At least 73,933,145 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 458,279 confirmed cases, with at least 32,937 deaths.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 797,998 people across the world. (ILKHA)
