House sales rises by 124% in Turkey
In July 2020, 229,357 houses were sold in Turkey, the country's statistical institute announced in a statement on Monday.
According to the statement, in Turkey, house sales increased by 124.3% in July 2020 compared to the same month of the previous year and hence, became 229,357.
For the house sales of July 2020, İstanbul had the highest share of house sales with 17.2% and 39,432 sold house. The followers of İstanbul were Ankara with 26,885 house sales and İzmir 15,614 house sales with the share of 11.7% and 6.8% respectively. The least house sold provinces were Hakkari with 19 house sales, Ardahan with 30 house sales and Şırnak with 74 house sales.
In July 2020, 130,721 ownership of the houses changed by mortgage sales
The mortgaged house sales throughout Turkey became 130,721 by increasing 900.6% compared to the same month of the previous year. House sales with mortgage had a 57.0% share of all house sales in Turkey. İstanbul has the highest mortgage house sales in Turkey with 24,000 sales and with the share of 18.4%. The least mortgaged other house sales was realized in Hakkari with 7 house sales.
Ownership of 98,636 houses changed by other sales
Other house sales in Turkey became 98,636 by increasing 10.6% compared to the same month of the previous year. In the other sales, İstanbul was the first province with 15,432 sales and 15.6% share. Other house sales had 39.1% share of all house sales in İstanbul. Ankara was the second province with 8,961 sales. Ankara was followed by İzmir with 5,837 sales. The least other house sales was realized in Hakkari with 12 house sales.
In house sales, 67,937 of houses were sold for the first time
First house sales in Turkey became 67,937 by increasing 74.5% compared to the same month of the previous year. First house sales had 29.6% share of all house sales in Turkey. The most first house sales was in İstanbul with 10,429 sales. İstanbul was the first province in Turkey ranking that had most first house sales share with 15.4%. The followers of İstanbul were Ankara with 6,355 house sales and İzmir with 4,524 house sales.
Ownership of 161,420 houses changed by second hand sales
Second hand house sales in Turkey became 161,420 by increasing 155.0% compared to the same month of the previous year. In the second hand sales, İstanbul was the first province with 29 thousand 3 sales and 18.0% share. Share of the second hand sales was 73.6% in İstanbul in total house sales. Ankara was the second province with 20,530 sales and Ankara was followed by İzmir with 11,090 sales.
Houses sales increased by 40.5% in January-July period
In the January-July period, 854,126 houses were sold and increased by 40.5% compared to the same period of the previous year. In the January-July period, sales of mortgaged houses was 397,095 and increased by 313.9%, and in other types of sales, it was 457,031 and decreased by 10.8%. Houses sold for the first time in this period was 265,709 increased by 8.4%. Second-hand house sales was 588,417 and also increased by 62.1%.
In July 2020, 2,741 houses were sold to foreigners
In house sales to foreigners became 2,741 by decreasing 34.6% compared to the same month of the previous year. İstanbul was the first province with a 1,046 sales in July 2020. The followers of İstanbul were Antalya with 615 house sales, Ankara with 230 house sales, Mersin with 101 house sales and Yalova with 88 house sales.
In January-July period, house sales to foreigners became 17,003 by decreasing 29.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Most house sales were made to Iran citizens according to country nationalities
In July, Iran citizens bought 540 houses from Turkey. The followers of Iran were Iraq with 388 house sales, Russia with 154 house sales, Afghanistan with 149 house sales and Germany with 143 house sales. (ILKHA)
