Iran's death toll from coronavirus rises to 19,162
Iran has reported 174 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 18,800, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Thursday.
After 2,625 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 336,324 in the country.
There are at least 3,971 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, 292,058 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 2,763,225 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 747,682 with 20,832,243 cases and more than 13,726,454 recoveries. (ILKHA)
