The number of deaths from coronavirus rises to 167,790 in the United States
1,504 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 167,790, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 103,099 deaths, Mexico with 53,929 deaths and the United Kingdom with 46,628 deaths.
5,309,741 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 54,519 new cases in the past 24 hours.
Until now, at least 2,755,348 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.
At least 66,942,357 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 451,736 confirmed cases, with at least 32,857 deaths.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 747,231 people across the world. (ILKHA)
