Coronavirus: Iran reports 188 new deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 188 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 18,988, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Wednesday.
After 2,510 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 333,699 in the country.
There are at least 3,940 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, 290,244 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 2,763,225 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 746,639 with 20,551,767 cases and more than 13,465,097 recoveries. (ILKHA)
