Indonesia's Sinabung volcano erupts for second time in three days
Sinabung volcano has erupted violently, sending a giant ash cloud 5 kilometres into the air.
The volcano has erupted twice in the past three days, after a year of inactivity.
Mount Sinabung on Indonesia's Sumatra Island had been inactive for centuries before it suddenly erupted in 2010.
Local residents living along rivers near the volcano were advised to stay at least 3 kilometers away for possible lava flows.
There are no reports of casualties.
On June 9, 2019, a large eruption occurred at Mount Sinabung, sending a plume of ash 7,000 meters (22,966 feet) into the air, and generating a pyroclastic flow 3‒3,5 kilometers long towards the south and southeast. (ILKHA)
