Consumer price index rises by 11.76% annually in Turkey
Consumer price index has increased by 11.76% annually and 0.58% monthly in Turkey, the country's statistical institute said in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the statement, a rise in general index was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 0.58%, on December of the previous year by 6.37%, on same month of the previous year by 11.76% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 11.51% in July 2020.
The lowest annual increase was 5.81% in communication
Recreation and culture with 6.04%, furnishings and household equipment with 7.78% and transportation with 8.81% were the other main groups where low annual increases realized. On the other hand, miscellaneous goods and services with 21.90%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco with 21.78% and health with 14.17% were the main groups where high annual increases realized.
The highest monthly decrease was 3.48% in clothing and footwear
In July 2020, the other main group that indicated a decrease was food and non-alcoholic beverages with 1.28%. On the other hand, transportation with 2.44%, miscellaneous goods and services with 2.39% and furnishings and household equipment with 2.38% were the main groups where high monthly increases realized.
