WHO reports largest single day increase in COVID-19 cases
More than 292,000 new coronavirus cases were reported on Friday to the World Health Organization over the last 24 hours, the largest single-day increase ever.
The coronavirus outbreak, which was first identified in Wuhan, China and declared a pandemic by World Health Organization on March 11, is continuing to claim the lives of thousands of people across the world.
However, the countries began to ease measures against the coronavirus pandemic, which has been severely affecting the world economy.
A total number of confirmed cases has reached 17,771,634 across the globe, with 683,278 deaths and 11,168,411 recoveries.
The United States, the current epicenter of the pandemic, has the highest number of confirmed cases of coronavirus with 4,706,059 cases, followed by Brazil with 2,666,298 cases, India with 1,701,307 cases, Russia with 839,981 cases, South Africa with 493,183 cases, Mexico with 424,637 cases, Peru with 414,735 cases and Chile with 355,667 cases.
