Brazil's death toll from coronavirus rises to 87,679
627 more people have died from coronavirus in Brazil over the 24 hours, bringing the country’s death toll from the virus to 87,679.
The number of confirmed cases has reached 2,443,480 in Brazil, an increase of 23,579 cases in the last 24 hours.
While at least 8,318 patients are being treated in intensive care units, more than 1,667,667 patients suffering from coronavirus have fully recovered and been discharged from hospital.
Sao Paulo, the country’s most-populated state, continues to be the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic in Brazil. The state has so far reported more than 488,000 confirmed coronavirus cases, with at least 21,676 deaths.
Brazilian Government has so far delivered 8,449 ventilators through the country's Health Ministry in all states to assist in the care of patients with Covid-19.
"The purchase and distribution of the ventilators is part of the strategic support of the Brazilian government in assisting states," the Health Ministry said. (ILKHA)
