In his message, Altun stated the following:

"Today is also July 24, Journalists and Press Day. Extending my heartfelt wishes, I would like to celebrate July 24, Journalists and Press Day of all our media members, who stand by the truth against lies and work day and night under challenging circumstances, and wish them success.

Turkish Presidency's Directorate of Communications will always continue to stand by press members in their struggle for the truth with all our affiliated institutions and organisations at home and abroad, and say ‘Long live the truth!’

I cannot describe the peace and happiness I deeply feel as the anniversary of the foundation of the Directorate of Communications has coincided with the day when the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque is opened to worship, which we have been longing for.
