Turkish artillery attacks set fire forests, lands of villagers in Kurdistan
Kurdish authorities have repeatedly stated that hundreds of residents of the border villages are displaced due to Operation Claw Tiger launched by Turkey.

On Monday, Turkish artilleries shelled PKK positions in the Kurdistan Region’s Bradost area in northern Erbil province, near the border with Turkey, causing environmental damages.
On the other hand, Turkish planes bombed the countryside of Merga Rash village in Erbil’s Bradost area in response to a PKK attack on Turkish military outpost in the area, the local sources said.
20 villages are also in danger of being displaced due to Turkish attacks in the region.
The Claw-Eagle and Claw-Tiger operations are ongoing Turkish Armed Forces external operations in Iraqi Kurdistan. The attacks have taken place in the Qandil Mountains, the Sinjar District, and Makhmur, against PKK’s targets. Claw-Eagle, the air campaign, began on 15 June 2020. Claw-Tiger, the ground campaign, was launched on June 17.
The ongoing conflict between Turkey and PKK has resulted in nearly forty thousand deaths since 1984 when PKK waged an insurgency against Turkish State. (ILKHA)
