Iran's death toll from coronavirus rises to 13,410
Iran has reported 199 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 13,410, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Wednesday.
After 2,388 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 264,561 in the country.
There are at least 3,411 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, 227,561 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 2,048,049 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 581,972 with 13,487,588 cases and more than, 7,877,413 recoveries. (ILKHA)
