3 Russian soldiers wounded in a roadside bomb attack in northern Syria
The attack took place while Russian and Turkish soldiers were patrolling M4 highway in Syria's northwestern Idlib province.
The injured soldiers were taken to the Russian base at Hemeimeem and their lives were not in danger, according to Russian officials.
After the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on March 5, 2020, Russia and Turkey came to a cease-fire agreement in Syria, which included joint Russian and Turkish patrols of a 12 kilometers (7.5 mile) wide corridor alongside the M4 Motorway that runs through Idlib to Latakia.
