Iran’s death toll from coronavirus rises to 12,635
Iran has reported 188 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 12,635, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Saturday.
After 2,397 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 255,117 in the country.
There are at least 3,338 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, 217,666 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 1,940,000 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 563,722 with 12,665,617 cases and more than 7,395,901 recoveries. (ILKHA)
