United States: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases reaches 3,159,671
890 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 134,888, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 68,089 deaths, the United Kingdom with 44,517 deaths and Italy with 34,914 deaths.
3,159,671 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 55,442 new cases in the past 24 hours.
Until now, at least 1,354,863 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.
At least 39,482,643 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 424,263 confirmed cases, with at least 32,311 deaths.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 552,934 people across the world. (ILKHA)
