116 irregular migrants held in western Turkey
116 irregular migrants trying to cross into Greek Islands were held by Turkish security forces in Turkey’s western Balıkesir province on Thursday.
The migrants will be handed over to the provincial directorate of immigration administration.
Turkey has traditionally been a major transit port for irregular immigrants to enter the European countries.
According to the official reports, 454,662 irregular migrants held across the country in 2019. (ILKHA)
