Japan’s death toll from floods rises to 18 after record-breaking rainfall
At least 18 people died and 14 were missing after record rainfall hit the southern island of Kyushu
While search and rescue crews are continuing a search for survivors, the country’s Meteorological Agency has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in the island.
Many people were still waiting to be rescued from other inundated areas, local authorities said.
More than 270,000 people have until now been evacuated in four prefectures across the island. (ILKHA)
