Iran: The number of coronavirus cases surpasses 220,180
125 coronavirus patients lost their lives in the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s death toll to 10,364, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Saturday.
The number of coronavirus cases has reached 220,180, an increase of 2,456 cases in the last 24 hours, Lari said.
There are at least 2,928 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, 180,661 have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, at least 1,583,542 tests have been taken across the country to detect infections, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 497,553 with 9,935,361 cases and more than 5,383,819 recoveries. (ILKHA)
