Confidence index increases in services, retail trade and construction sectors
Confidence index has increased in services, retail trade and construction sectors in Turkey in June 2020, Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Wednesday.
According to the statement, seasonally adjusted confidence index increased by 8.5% in services, 9.3% in retail trade and 33.1% in construction sectors in June compared to the previous month.
Services confidence index realized as 55.5
Seasonally adjusted confidence index which was 51.1 for services in May increased by 8.5% in June to 55.5. In services sector compared to the previous month, business situation over past three months sub-index increased by 2.9% to 38.2. Demand-turnover over past three months sub-index increased by 3.6% to 40.5 and demand-turnover expectation over next three months sub-index increased by 13.7% to 87.8.
Retail trade confidence index realized as 86.4
Seasonally adjusted retail trade confidence index increased by 9.3% in June to 86.4. In retail trade sector compared to the previous month, business activity-sales over past three months sub-index increased by 17.0% to 48.6. Current volume of stock sub-index decreased by 5.6% to 113.7 and business activity-sales expectation over next three months sub-index increased by 28.9% to 96.8.
Construction confidence index realized as 78.0
Seasonally adjusted construction confidence index which was 58.5 in previous month increased by 33.1% in June to 78.0. In construction sector compared to the previous month, current overall order books sub-index became 59.1 by increasing 48.0%. Total employment expectation over next three months sub-index increased by 25.5% to 96.8.
In construction sector, 68.9% of the enterprises indicated at least one factor limiting their activities while 31.1% of the enterprises indicated none in June. Among the main factors limiting activities in construction sector; "financial "constraints" which was 39.9% in May realized as 36.8% in June, "insufficient demand" which was 44.8% in May realized as 34.5% in June and "other factors" which was 47.3% in May realized as 32.8% in June.
