45 irregular migrants held in eastern Turkey
45 irregular migrants were held, 2 alleged human smugglers were arrested in Turkey’s eastern Bitlis province on Tuesday.
“On 21.06.2020, 45 irregular migrants were captured in a minibus, which was stopped at the entrance of the city center. Two human smugglers were arrested,” the Governor’s office said in a statement.
Turkey has traditionally been a major transit port for irregular immigrants to enter the European countries.
According to the official reports, 454,662 irregular migrants held across the country in 2019. (ILKHA)
