Coronavirus in US: The number of cases rises to 2,246,676
809 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours in the United States, rising the country’s death toll from the virus to 119,941, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 46,665 deaths, the United Kingdom with 42,153 deaths and Italy with 34,448 deaths.
2,234,471 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the United States, an increase of 26,071 new cases in the past 24 hours.
Until now, at least 918,796 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.
At least 26,243,811 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 406,930 confirmed cases, with at least 31,083 deaths.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 453,432 people across the world. (ILKHA)
