Iran reports 113 new deaths from coronavirus
2,449 new cases of coronavirus were reported over the past 24 hours in Iran, increasing the total number of infections in the country to 189,876, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Monday.
113 coronavirus patients lost their lives in the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 8,950, she added.
There are at least 2,765 people in intensive care, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, 150,590 have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, 1,269,164 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 436,145 with 8,019,170 cases and more than 4,141,313 recoveries. (ILKHA)
