The number of coronavirus cases reaches 187,427 in Iran
2,472 new cases of coronavirus were reported over the past 24 hours in Iran, increasing the total number of infections in the country to 187,427, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Sunday.
107 coronavirus patients lost their lives in the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 8,837, she noted.
There are at least 2,781 people in intensive care, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, 148,674 have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, 1,244,074 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 432,893 with 7,897,208 cases and more than 4,057,396 recoveries. (ILKHA)
