Death toll from coronavirus rises to 41,279 in the United Kingdom
202 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United Kingdom death toll from the virus to 41,481, the country’s Department of Health and Social Care announced on Friday.
“As of 9am 12 June, there have been 6,434,713 tests, with 193,253 tests on 11 June. 292,950 people have tested positive. As of 5pm on 11 June, of those tested positive for coronavirus, across all settings, 41,481 have sadly died,” the Department tweeted.
On the other hand, due to the containment measures used to halt the coronavirus spread in the country, the UK’s monthly gross domestic product (GDP) fell by 20.4% in April 2020, the biggest monthly fall since the series began in 1997, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) announced on Friday.
Global death toll from coronavirus has reached 425,203, with at least 7,649,862 confirmed cases and 3,875,489 recoveries, according to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics. (ILKHA)
