United States reports 900 new deaths from coronavirus
900 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 116,063, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by the United Kingdom with 41,481 deaths, Brazil with 41,058 deaths and Italy with 34,167 deaths.
2,094,368 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 23,135 new cases in the past 24 hours.
Until now, at least 817,337 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.
At least 23,159,053 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 402,021 confirmed cases, with at least 30,741 deaths.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 425,044 people across the world. (ILKHA)
