Palestine reports 8 new coronavirus cases in the last two days
Palestine confirmed 8 new coronavirus cases in last two days, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the occupied territories to 662.
Seven new cases were recorded on Tuesday in the southern West Bank town of Dahriyeh, including four children, after coming in contact with an infected person, according to Minister of Health Mai Alkaila.
At the same time, Mai al-Kaileh announced in a press conference on Wednesday that the latest case was that of a 54-year-old Palestinian woman from Jericho.
Al-Kaileh explained that the woman contracted the virus after coming in touch with her relative, who came from Beir al-Sabe, in southern Israel, to visit her.
The latest recovery cases have risen the total recoveries to 565, accounting for 85.3 percent recovery rate, she added.
Out of the total 622 confirmed cases, 320 cases are in Jerusalem district, 272 others are in northern districts and 70 others are in the Gaza Strip.
“There were 92 active cases in total, including 23 active cases in Jerusalem, 19 others in Hebron district, four others in Jenin district, two others in Jericho, and 28 others in the besieged Gaza Strip,” she added.
270 people were put into home quarantine over the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of suspected cases currently in quarantine to 2,782. (ILKHA)
