The United States reports 1,159 new deaths from coronavirus
At least 1,159 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 108,104, according to Johns Hopkins University.
1,884,966 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 21,882 new cases in the past 24 hours.
Until now, about 645,974 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.
At least 18,603,174 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by the United Kingdom with 39,369 deaths, Italy with 33,530 deaths and Brazil with 31,278 deaths.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 381,912 confirmed cases, with at least 30,078 deaths.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 383,667 people across the world. (ILKHA)
