The number of deaths from coronavirus nears 103,000 in the United States
At least 1,307 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States death toll from the virus to 102,736, according to Johns Hopkins University.
1,756,673 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 22,658 new cases in the past 24 hours.
Until now, about 498,725 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.
More than 16 million tests were performed to detect coronavirus infections in the country.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by the United Kingdom with 37,837 deaths, Italy with 33,142 deaths and France with 28,662 deaths.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 376,309 confirmed cases, with at least 29,653 deaths.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 362,114 people across the world. (ILKHA)
