Italian aid worker returns from Kenya after 18 months hostage
Italian volunteer Silvia Romano, who kidnapped in Kenya on November 2018, has been freed yesterday, she came back home in Ramadan as Muslim.
Romano was kidnapped by gunmen 18 months ago in Kenya while working for charity Africa Milele, in southeastern Kenya.
Silvia Romano has converted to Islam while in the captivity of suspected AlShabaab members in Somalia for the past 18 months.
The Turkish intelligence network and combined with NISA Somalia national intelligence authority worked hard in order to free Silvia Romano, the reports said.
A video clip taken today after landing in Rome, where she was welcomed by her family and Italian authorities, shows her, wearing the Islamic veil and covering her head.
The freedom of Silvia Romano is bringing about polemics in Italy. They are speaking about her becoming Muslim and how much Italy paid for ransom. (ILKHA)
