Coronavirus in the United States: The number of deaths surpasses 80,000
At least 1,417 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States death toll from the virus to 80,056.
8,953,831 people have been tested, of which 1,350,507 tested positive in the country.
Until now, 238,148 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Italy and Spain.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 343,409 confirmed cases, with at least 26,771 deaths.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 281,461 people across the world. (ILKHA)
