Turkey has now moved on to a new phase in its fight against pandemic, Erdoğan says
Turkey’s President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the meeting of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of his party held via videoconference on Tuesday.
Addressing AK Party’s CEC via videoconference, Erdoğan said: “Having displayed a much more solid stance than developed countries in every aspect, Turkey has now moved on to a new phase in which it will leave behind this turbulent period. The picture before us renders us more self-confident as the people and the state. We will turn the achievements we have made during the pandemic into much greater accomplishments both regionally and globally.”
Reminding that the steps to be taken initially in line with the timeline set at the last meeting of the Presidential Cabinet were already announced to the public, Erdoğan noted that Turkey will continue to manage the process diligently according to the people’s needs and the relevant bodies’ opinions.
“We will rid our country of the scourge of pandemic”
Underlining that steps for normalization will be taken calmly by giving thorough consideration to every possibility, Erdoğan stated that the gains achieved thus far will never be undermined.
There may be some adjustments to the timeline set for the normalization as per the course of events, Erdoğan said. “In line with the developments in Turkey and the world, we will keep updating the plans which we have prepared under the coordination of the Vice President. We will rid our country of the scourge of pandemic without giving way to pessimism or complacency.”
