12 Palestinian journalists in zionists’ jails
As the world is marking its Press Freedom Day, the Israeli occupation state continues to detain 12 Palestinian journalists in its jails under harsh incarceration conditions.
The longest serving of those journalists are Mahmoud Issa, serving three life terms and 45 years, Basem Khendoggi (three life sentences), Munther Mefleh (30 years) and Ahmad Saifi (17 years), according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).
"The occupation authorities use the policy of arresting journalists and activists in an attempt to undermine their societal, cultural and political role, and prevent them from exposing its crimes,” the PPS said in a statement. (ILKHA)
